Melinda Gates, in an interview with CBS News, sounded off on Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the sketchy financier (allegedly) behind a massive pedophile ring.
Speaking on her former husband’s relationship with the fabulously wealthy pedophile, she said it was a relationship she didn’t like. In her words:
“I did not like that he’d had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him.”
Then, later in the interview, speaking on her one interaction with the pedophile, Melinda Gates said:
“He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. I had nightmares about it afterward. So my heart breaks for these young women.”

Trending Politics, reporting on the relationship and Melinda Gates’ outing of it, said:
According to reports by Newsweek, the first meeting between Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein took place in New York City in January 2011.
On this particular occasion, Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin, a former Miss Sweden whom Epstein had briefly dated, and her 15-year-old daughter joined Gates and Epstein.
According to the New York Times, Bill Gates sent an email to colleagues regarding Epstein in 2011, in which he stated, “His lifestyle is extremely different and kind of intriguing, although this would not work for me.” Additionally, he stated in the email that “a really lovely Swedish woman & her daughter came by and I actually stayed there fairly late.”
However, according to Bill Gates’ spokeswoman Bridgitt Arnold, the email “was in no way intended to suggest a genuine interest or approval.” According to The Daily Beast, Bill and Melinda Gates had a meeting with Epstein at his Eastside residence in September of last year.
Just to put this all in perspective, 2013 marked four years after Epstein was put in prison for soliciting a juvenile under the age of 18 for sex with the intent of sexually exploiting him. So Gates knew that Epstein was a convicted pedophile but still wanted to hang out with him at a private dinner party and on Epstein’s private jet.
However, it should be noted that while Melinda Gates claims the two had that relationship, Gates never visited Epstein’s island and was only on Epstein’s plane once. As CheckYourFact reports:
The Daily Caller reviewed Epstein’s publicly available flight logs, uploaded online by the websites Gawker and FactCheck.org, and found only one mention of Gates in them. That March 2013 flight went from Teterboro airport in New Jersey to Palm Beach International airport in Florida, not to the U.S. Virgin Islands where his island is located.
In 2019, a spokesperson for Gates told The New York Times that Gates hadn’t been aware that the plane belonged to Epstein.
So, while Melinda Gates found him horrifying, the Gates-Epstein relationship was, potentially, more limited than Epstein’s relationship with other public figures. That’s not to excuse it, only to add context.
Though why Gates was involved with Epstein years after the pedophile’s conviction isn’t clear, Epstein was known for cultivating relationships with scientists and funding their ventures, a quality he shared with Gates. At the best, perhaps Gates overlooked Epstein’s sick perversions in the hope of raising more money for science. At the worst, well, as Melinda said, Epstein was “evil personified.”
