Mad that Fox was pushing conservative viewpoints, Chris Wallace ditched Fox for CNN and became one of the top figures with a show on CNN+, CNN’s new streaming service.
But, as should have been predicted from the start, no one wants to watch CNN, much less CNN which costs $5.99 a month, so only about 10,000 people on average are watching CNN+ and Wallace is furious.
Well Megyn Kelly has no mercy for Wallace; she absolutely tore into him during a recent segment of her show, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” while speaking with Buck Sexton.
Beginning, Kelly ripped CNN for thinking that CNN+ was a good idea, saying “Who is the moron at CNN who actually thought, ‘you know what we need with our ratings in the toilet?’ More of us. We need more CNN.”
Sexton agreed, saying “I do love all of the jokes about how while Elon Musk is offering to buy Twitter for tens of billions, there are lots of people out there right now who are willing to buy CNN+ for tens of dollars.”
But then they turned from ripping CNN generally to skewering turncoat anchor Chris Wallace for having no loyalty to Fox.
Kelly, speaking about that and using a person experience to shed some light on what Wallace should have done when CNN came to him with its CNN+ offer, said:
“He was in last place every week, every year, every month. He was always in last. And they still paid him.
“I considered going to CNN. CNN made me a huge offer. Huge. I said no, Buck, because I knew: who is my fanbase going to be over there? I knew who my fans were and I knew that my Fox viewers were not going to follow me to CNN and that the CNN viewers were going to hate my guts.”
Watch the two discuss CNN and Chris Wallace here:
But, unlike Kelly, Wallace seemingly had both no foresight and no loyalty, so he ditched the network that was paying him well despite the audience’s disdain for him and left for CNN, where he’d have no audience because leftists don’t want to watch a Republican, Republicans don’t want to listen to a turncoat, and no one wants to watch CNN.
Kelly was smart enough to turn down the big check and avoid that problem. But Wallace wasn’t. He took Zucker’s 30 pieces of silver and jumped aboard the sinking ship, going somewhere without an audience and where he might hate his own guts for being.
That’s at least what Kelly thinks is the case, as she added that she thinks he is “suffering from that very problem right now.”
So now Wallace is stuck at a network that, despite spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a new streaming service, can barely drag in any viewers.
Despite the large check they might have cut him, that’s not good for him, particularly if CNN+ ends up being done away with because it can’t bring in any subscribers.
