WATCH: Grammy Award Winner Goes Full Anti-Woke, Says “just because you go change your parts doesn’t make a woman”

Macy Gray almost certainly isn’t a friend of the conservative movement, but she is, apparently, an ally on one issue. That issue is transgenderism, specifically the issue of whether men can “become” women by taking some hormones and having surgery. Gray, surprisingly for an artist, doesn’t think so.

She said as much when speaking to Piers Morgan about the transgender issue, saying “Everybody is going to hate me” and then launching into her take on the transgender issue.

As you can hear in the video, Gray, talking to Morgan, first said “I will say this, and everybody’s going to hate me, but as a woman, just because you go change your parts doesn’t make a woman. Sorry.

And she didn’t end it there. Responding to Piers Morgan, who said “you feel that?”, Gray then said:

I know that for a fact. Like, if you want me to call you a ‘her,’ I will, because that’s what you want. But that doesn’t make you a woman, just because I call you a ‘her’ and just because you got a surgery.”

Continuing, Gray then said:

Being a little girl is a whole epic book and you can’t have that just because you want to be a woman. It’s the truth and I don’t think you should be called transphobic just because you don’t agree. There’s a lot of judgment and throwing stones at people for just saying what it is.”

Predictably, “transphobic” is exactly what the blue-hairs called her. Twitter blew up shortly after the interview, with everyone from random anonymous accounts to blue-checks with more influence than they deserve going off on her and attacking her for making an argument that would have been seen as highly reasonable in…like 2019.

One random account, for example, commented on the video saying:

What trans women is saying they lived the same exact experience as being a lil girl…. Literally sayin you’re trans as the adjective before woman is acknowledging the difference. No trans woman is saying that they have the same history as you growing up Macy.

Gray did later back down somewhat on Twitter, saying:

i got nothing but love for lgbt+ and transgender communities. i’ve been a supporter since day one and never a fake one. my statement on piers morgan was GROSSLY misunderstood. i respect everyone’s right to be whoever they wana be.

Piers Morgan took a harder line on Twitter, calling one of the blue checks who attacked Gray and called her “transphobic” “repulsive “, saying:

If there’s one thing worse than the vicious trans activist mob coming for women who defend women, it’s virtue-signalling men like this fuelling the pile-on. Repulsive.

Many other less well-known accounts cheered Gray, with everyone from random Twitter anons to conservative influencers jumping to her defense and attacking the far-left for calling her “transphobic”.

What’s most amazing is that so many people are so infuriated by a comment that would have been seen as common sense by almost everyone just a few years ago.
