Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is, perhaps second only to Donald Trump, one of the greatest and most unrepentant fighters in the GOP. Where other Republican politicians back down to the left, surrender to the demands of radical Democrats, or just stay quiet when the wokies are on one of their anti-American attack sprees, DeSantis has a way of standing up and fighting for what’s right.
I still prefer Trump’s style and think he’s utterly unbeatable in that regard, but DeSantis does a pretty darn good job of it too.
And now DeSantis is back in action, ripping Team Biden’s ridiculous claims about the so-called Inflation Reduction Act and refusing to back down in the face of concerted woke opposition to him and his pro-American policies.
On the topic of the Inflation Reduction Act, DeSantis perfectly described what it and its provisions really are, going on a blistering tear and describing the funding for all those agents as a “middle finger to the American public.”
Speaking on that in a press conference, DeSantis said:
“Why would they do that? Because you’re not going to be able to contend with the audit. So they’re going to crush a lot of people by doing that. And I think of all the things that have come out of Washington that have been outrageous, this has got to be pretty close to the top.
“And I think it was basically just a middle finger to the American public that this is what they think of you. All these problems we have to deal with, and they think the way is to do 87,000 IRS agents. There’s going to be more people in the IRS than in like a lot of these other agencies combined now.”
Watch him here:
And that wasn’t all DeSantis had to say recently. He also refused to back down to the wokies in another epic press conference, standing up for what Florida is doing to give wokeness the boot from its education system and saying that Florida is the place where wokeness goes to die. In his words:
“What I’ve said is the state of Florida is the place where woke goes to die. We are not going to let this state descend into some type of woke dumpster fire. We’re going to be following common sense, we’re going to be following facts.”
Watch him discuss that here:
That came when DeSantis was describing how he was standing up to wokeness in Florida schools and argued that he was doing what was necessary to put America and Florida’s students first, saying:
With everything, I think that we’re putting Floridians first, we’re putting Americans first. If we have a qualified teacher in the United States or in Florida, I don’t want to go with a foreigner over somebody that’s from our communities. There’s nothing wrong with, in some situations, I don’t know how it would work, with what they’re doing, but clearly we believe in putting the people here in Florida first. Our programs are designed to benefit Floridians, not people in other countries.”
DeSantis isn’t backing down or staying quiet! Good for him.
