Watch: Biden’s Photo (Mistakenly) Pops Up During News Story about a Creepy Old Man

If real, this might be one of the funniest news slip-ups of all time. Before I say anything about it, just watch it and see if you catch what’s wrong with the newscast:

Did you catch it? Yes, you saw correctly. “President” Joe Biden made an unexpected appearance in the news on Tuesday, one that occurred before his widely-derided State of the Union address. As Stephen Crowder reported:

“A 71-year-old man is accused of inappropriate touching a 12-year-old girl at a Walmart. In an unrelated story, a 78-year-old man is set to give his State of the Union Address. And a graphics editor at a local news network is about to be unemployed after confusing the two. As the anchor was about to tell the first story, a graphic about Joe Biden’s SOTU flashed on the screen in the awesomest mistake in local news history.”

Now, if the video is in fact real, it was a slip-up, obviously. Joe Biden, despite having a penchant for being photographed in, shall we say “awkward,” poses around young women, isn’t a suspect in the case being talked about in that newscast.

Even if all those photos of him that make your skin crawl indicate something about his proclivities (PolitiFact says there isn’t any evidence), he’s far too busy hiding in his basement and getting enough rest in to be able to make one or so appearances a day and showing the world that he’s still alive to spend time chasing around some young girl.

Still, it’s hilarious that the slip-up occurred, as the description of the person actually being discussed (a creepy, perverted old man) is so close to Biden that one has to wonder if some intern decided to splash Biden’s face on the screen as a joke.

In addition to the veracity of the clip, which is probably real but could be fake, the big question is if this slip-up tops CNN airing an Applebee’s commercial during the middle of a story about Ukrainian air raid sirens sounding as Russian cruise missiles pummeled the nation. Watch that here:
