Ted Cruz Takes Down Anthony “I Am Science” Fauci in Brilliant Twitter Thread

Fauci, during an interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan, made a number of comments that were both absurd and highly inappropriate for a supposedly non-partisan bureaucrat to utter.

For example, at one point he said “Anybody who spins lies and threatens and all that theater that goes on with some of the investigations and the congressional committees and the Rand Pauls and all that other nonsense, that’s noise, Margaret, that’s noise.” Adding to that, he at one point added that those Republicans that attack him are lying.

Apparently, in Anthony “The Science” Fauci’s opinion, Senator Cruz’s questions about certain elements of the 2020 election mean that Fauci is innocent and Cruz himself should be locked up.

Senator Cruz, predictably, struck back with a vengeance. In a series of tweets, Cruz slammed Fauci for his authoritarian tendencies, distortion of facts, and attitude. Here those tweets are:

Then, after laying out his case against Fauci, Cruz added that:

No amount of ad hominem insults parroting Democrat talking points will get Fauci out of this contradiction. Fauci either needs to address the substance—in detail, with specific factual corroboration—or DOJ should consider prosecuting him for making false statements to Congress.

So, while the rest of America might have to listen to Fauci’s diktats, Senator Cruz is showing that he’ll stand up to the mealy-mouthed technocrat. It remains to be seen, however, if the DOJ will pick up the case.
