Today, Tuesday the 11th, Brandon is supposed to be giving a speech on voting rights in Georgia, a speech ostensibly meant to help Stacey Abrams, the Democrat that’s perpetually running and losing in Georgia.
The only problem is that she refuses to show up and appear alongside President Brandon during the speech.
In fact, though she took to Twitter to say “The fight for voting rights takes persistence. As MLK exhorted, “The clock of destiny is ticking out. We must act now before it is too late.” Thank you, @POTUS, for refusing to relent until the work is finished. Welcome back to Georgia where we get good done. #FTVA #JLVRAA,” she won’t be attending the speech.
That came out on Twitter, where a NYT reporter said:

What’s unclear is why Abrams won’t attend Brandon’s speech, one that Breitbart reports is planned to be “an angry speech condemning the new election integrity laws passed in the state by Republicans, condemning them as racist.”
So, given that such a topic and tone is likely right up her alley, with most of her career defined by losing races then blaming the loss on “racist” voting laws, why won’t Abrams attend the speech and nod along as Brandon rants about “voter rights” and calls Republicans racist?
Probably, the answer is that Brandon is so unpopular in Georgia that she’s having to keep him at an arm’s length, even when he thinks he’s being helpful.
According to a September survey, Brandon only had 40% approval in Georgia, with 53% of Georgians disapproving of the job he’s doing. Since that poll was conducted, Brandon’s popularity has only declined further, meaning that the actual number of Georgians that support him is likely a few points lower.
With Brandon so underwater in her home state, it makes sense that Abrams might not want to appear alongside him.
