Uncle Joe’s Immigration Crisis

In case you haven’t noticed, there is an immigration crisis at the southern border that has exploded since Uncle Joe was installed as holder of the Oval Office. This is the second of three articles going over three major issues plaguing the Biden Administration: Inflation, immigration, and crime. All of which can or will affect every American if it is not contained or dramatically reduced.

Illegal immigration is a touchy subject and I have personally avoided the topic with certain people who I feel may be sensitive to the issue. Some people find it hard to believe my stance on the subject because my father at one point, was an illegal immigrant from Guatemala and I am very thankful for the journey he made to get here. He is now a citizen and has been for a long time now because he understood the importance of going through the legal process and he also loves this country.

Open Border Policies

Joe Biden was installed into office on January 20, 2021. One of his first actions was halting the construction of the southern border wall which was the centerpiece of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

A border wall is not the only way to stop illegal immigration, but it is a way to help border patrol agents do their jobs as well as make it more difficult for illegal crossings to happen. During Trump’s time in office, 455 miles of the wall were built. In some areas, according to border agents, border crossings dropped by 90%.

Another action taken by Biden was ending Trump’s 2019 “Remain in Mexico” policy which required migrants to remain in Mexico while waiting for their asylum cases to be heard. Remain in Mexico was a win-win, it sped up the process of asylum seekers having their cases heard in a matter of months vs years and at the same time, those with bogus claims were less likely to attempt to cross the border. There was also a major reduction in apprehensions at the border, down from 144,000 in May 2019 to 42,000 in October 2019 as the policy took hold.

Catch-and-Release is back. What this does is release illegal aliens into the U.S. after being apprehended and are given a Notice to Appear (in court). The numbers of those who do not show up to court have ranged from 75% to close to 90% But now, people are being released into the country without an NTA.

The Biden team is now quietly flying illegal immigrants into various states. A recent Breitbart article reports that 7.200 migrants have been on flights at 10 U.S. airports between February. 19 and April 22. There are no photo ID requirements and no negative Covid testing requirements. There are even videos of planes landing in Tennessee in the dead of night dropping people off.

That’s not all. Biden is considering ending Title 42 which gives the U.S. President power to prohibit anyone from entering the country during a health crisis. About 460,000 immigrants were deported due to Title 42 from March 2020 to March 2021.

Now, the pandemic is not grappling the country the way it was a year ago, the Biden team are still allowing people to flow into the country who test positive for Covid and are not given quarantining requirements. According to city officials in Brownsville, Texas when they began testing people who crossed the border starting Jan. 25, there was a 6.3 positivity rate.

The numbers

According to Customs and Border Patrol, agents encountered nearly 178,000 border crossers in April of 2021, a 20 year high. That number is up 3% from March 2021. In May of this year, it ticked up to just above 180,000 people compared to 23,000 in May of 2020. Last month in June it rose to 188,000 and 34% of those were repeat crossers. In June of 2020, the number was 33,000 and in June of 2019 it was 104,000.

So far in the fiscal year of 2021, Border Patrol has apprehended over 1 million people at the border vs 458,000 in 2020. That number is also higher than 2018 with 396,000 apprehensions and 2019 when it reached 851,000.

Passing the 1 million mark is not something that has been seen since 2006. Clearly, we have a problem on our hands which Biden seems to do nothing about.

Not to mention the amount of drug seizures has risen this year. Between 2018-2020 there were a total of 12 pounds of fentanyl at the El Paso sector, this year it is up to 41 pounds. Fentanyl and meth seizures at ports of entry are also up, 719 percent and 781 percent.

Do illegal immigrants commit crimes after entry?

Of course, not all obviously but for people who think securing the border is inhumane, take some time to do some research or tell that to the families of those who have lost loved ones at the hands of illegal immigration. One of the stupidest things I’ve heard when trying to make that point was, “that person would have died anyway by something else.”

Brandon Randolph Michael is a 23-year-old man killed by a twice deported illegal immigrant Mario Tellez on August 15, 2007. Brandon was on his way to the bank when he was hit by Tellez, causing his car to flip and killing him. He refused to admit he was driving. Mario was pulled over several months before and was just given a fine for driving without a license.

Sgt. Brandon Mendoza of the Mesa, AZ police department was killed on May 12, 2014 in a head-on collision. Who was driving? A twice deported illegal immigrant. The offender was driving on the wrong side of four different freeways for 35 miles while high on meth and a blood alcohol level over 3x the legal limit.

In 2018 Ever Martinez-Reyes, 24, from El Salvador, was charged with assaulting and raping a woman in Long Island and was described by the Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas as one of the most brutal she has ever seen.

The list goes on and could be its own article itself but I will save that for another day.

The bottom line

Illegal immigration must be stopped and the Biden team seems to have no intention to do anything about it. There is a process of getting to the United States and it is attaining citizenship. In 2019 there were 834,000 people who became naturalized citizens of the U.S.

These numbers all show how much of a racist country we are. Over 1 million people were apprehended trying to get here this fiscal year and over 800,000 became citizens in 2019.

The goal of encouraging illegal immigration is to create more Democrat voters. If the people who were coming here were Trump supporters, Joe Biden would build a wall 100 feet high.
