Pennsylvania Mom Finds a Way to Get Inappropriate, Explicit Books Removed From School Bookshelves

Fenicia Redman of Chester County near Philadelphia is a mom who is sick and tired of leftist teachers making sick, obscene books available at her kids’ school library.

And so, rather than just complain, as many do, Redman has fought back. First, she urged school officials to remove sexually explicit and offensive materials from the school library. They refused, preferring to keep the creepy books in the libraries. So, she punched back even harder: she has taken the issue to federal court.

Yes, that’s right: the fired-up mom is asking a judge on the federal circuit to remove all obscene materials from all U.S. schools, something that would be a serious counterpunch against the left’s creepy efforts to put such materials in the schools. Speaking on that and what she wants out of the case, Ms. Redman said:

“I want a nationwide emergency injunction before these kids go back to school. I am the mother of a child who is being criminally victimized.”

After urging school officials to remove these books from the library at her kid’s school, Ms. Redman did some research of her own. She found that by allowing sexually explicit materials to be available on the bookshelves of schools all over the country, school officials were coming into direct conflict with what is known as the Federal Obscenity Law. By conflicting with this law, schools allowing sexually explicit books on the shelves in school libraries are breaking the law: such material can’t be shown to minors, for obvious reasons!

And it sure does seem to be porn that they’re putting in the libraries, as this tweet pointed out:

This is from a book in most public school libraries. Do you realize what American children are learning in school now? How they are being groomed and steered away from their families and God? Wake up and stand up! School boards approved this porn for students.

The U.S Department of Justice uses what is called the three-Prong “Miller Test” to determine whether or not material is obscene. The current test is:

Will the Red Wave come crashing down on the Democrat's heads in November?(Required)

  1. Whether the average person finds the material, taken as a whole, appeals to prurient interests, that is, an erotic, lascivious, abnormal, unhealthy, degrading, shameful, or morbid curiosity, in nudity, sex, or bathroom activities.
  2. Whether the average person finds that the material depicts or describes sexual conduct in a patently offensive way.
  3.  And, whether a reasonable person finds the material, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

Take a look at those prongs and then take a look at the photo in the tweet: it sure looks like it’s porn that they’re showing the kids, doesn’t it?

And it is a very, very serious offense that these schools are committing if they are indeed showing porn to kids.

Section 1466A of Title 18 prohibits engaging in the business of selling or transferring obscene matters involving minors. A first-time offender convicted under this statute could face fines and at least five years with a maximum of 20 years in prison. Ouch.

Section 1470 of Title 18 prohibits transferring or attempting to transfer obscene or sexually explicit material using the U.S. mail or any means or facility of interstate or foreign commerce to a minor under 16 years old. Those convicted could face up to 10 years in prison.

Unsurprisingly, the left has lost it over Ms. Redman’s attempt to get porn out of schools, calling her a “homophobe”, something she insists that she isn’t.

After getting nowhere with the local school board, she took her fight to the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg, where she brought blown-up signs depicting the books she wanted to be removed from school libraries. Some of these titles include: “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Tantric Sex,” “Gender Queer,” “Push,” and “All Boys Aren’t Blue. Ms. Redmond has served the Great Valley School District school board with notices of intent to sue.
