Education in America, both higher and lower, has been sinking for decades now. We were once a nation that produced brilliant scientists, an amazingly well-read populace, and brilliant writers. Thomas Edison, Mark Twain, Tom Wolfe, and countless others were educated in America and showed just how much our education system taught them. Lockheed’s Skunk Works engineers built amazing planes that tested the limits of what was possible, our Apollo program put men on the moon, and our literature spread around the world. From Westerns to the Great Gatsby, the end results of the American education system were marvelous achievements, then envy of the world.
Plus, even people not involved in the literary or scientific worlds were quite well-read and able to write with brilliance rarely found among modern authors. Just read Private Compton, a history of an infantry battalion in WWI that was written by a simple private from Pennsylvania; Compton himself, despite his humble origins, was well-versed in literature and a brilliant author and poet.
Unfortunately, most of that is not gone, not least because of critical race theory. Whereas our students once learned Latin and Greek in high school, not they are taught remedial English in their senior year of college. Instead of learning how to write, reading the great works, and becoming well-versed in history and the natural sciences, they are taught that America is evil and the white man is the devil. They learn about gender ideology, the sins of the men formerly ensconced in the American Pantheon, and, worst of all, are taught what to think rather than how to think. And that’s if they’re lucky; in many inner-city public schools they don’t even learn to read!
Well, some legislators are fighting back and trying to restore the American education system. That recently came to light in Oklahoma. According to the Epoch Times:
After hours of discussion and debate, the GOP-controlled House voted 70-19 in favor of the bill, HB1775, which now heads to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s desk to be signed into law.
It would prevent a number of topics, including that “one race or sex is inherently superior to another,” and that “an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist or oppressive,” from being taught in the state.
The sponsor of the bill, Republican state Rep. Kevin West said in a statement that students are being taught that because they’re a certain race or sex, they’re “inherently superior to others or should feel guilty for something that happened in the past.”’
Critical race theory is a Marxist ideology. It was invented in the Frankfurt School by avowed Marxists and its end goal is the destruction of the West. There’s no reason for it to be taught in our schools. Thank goodness those brave legislators in Oklahoma are standing up to those that want to indoctrinate our youth with it. Hopefully the governor will sign it.
