Were There 205,000 More Votes than Voters in Pennsylvania?
On December 28, 2020, President Trump tweeted out a shocking allegation of voter fraud. In the tweet, he claimed that there were 205,000 more votes in Pennsylvania than there are voters in the state. Here is that tweet:
Is that allegation true? Or is it a simple misunderstanding? The evidence points to it being true. In particular, a report on the issue put out by Rep. Frank Ryan of the 101st Legislative District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives lends credence to Trump’s claim about shocking, brazen voter fraud in Pennsylvania that makes already suspicious election results all the more suspicious, especially when viewed in the context of other allegations, such as non-citizens voting.
With more substantial allegations of voter fraud coming out day by day, such as this case of there being more votes than voters in PA, Republicans need to get ready to resist an illegitimate occupant of the White House! Get ready to fight like it’s 1776: https://teespring.com/get-the-spirit-of-76
The Numbers Don’t Add Up: There are More Votes than Voters in PA
The Evidence For Trump’s Claim:
Here is what Rep. Ryan said in a statement put out by his office about the claim that there are more votes than voters in PA:
“A group of state lawmakers performing extensive analysis of election data today revealed troubling discrepancies between the numbers of total votes counted and total number of voters who voted in the 2020 General Election, and as a result are questioning how the results of the presidential election could possibly have been certified by Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar and Governor Tom Wolf. These findings are in addition to prior concerns regarding actions by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Secretary, and others impacting the conduct of the election.
A comparison of official county election results to the total number of voters who voted on November 3, 2020 as recorded by the Department of State shows that 6,962,607 total ballots were reported as being cast, while DoS/SURE system records indicate that only 6,760,230 total voters actually voted. Among the 6,962,607 total ballots cast, 6,931,060 total votes were counted in the presidential race, including all three candidates on the ballot and write-in candidates.
The difference of 202,377 more votes cast than voters voting, together with the 31,547 over- and under-votes in the presidential race, adds up to an alarming discrepancy of 170,830 votes, which is more than twice the reported statewide difference between the two major candidates for President of the United States. On November 24, 2020, Boockvar certified election results, and Wolf issued a certificate of ascertainment of presidential electors, stating that Vice President Joe Biden received 80,555 more votes than President Donald Trump.”
The Rep’s office also included this graph in its report on the issue:
The Counter-Claim: Pure Pedantry
The only fact used to refute Trump’s claim is that there are more than 9 million voters registered in Pennsylvania and there were only 6,900,000 votes cast in the 2020 election, according to state data.
However, that counter-claim is more of a pedantic critique of language rather than a substantive point. Yes, it might not be completely accurate that there were more votes than voters, registered voters, that is, in Pennsylvania.
Additionally, there is no evidence that has been presented thus far that refutes the central claim, which is that there were more votes than votes cast in PA. Based on the statement put out by Rep. Ryan, it appears that there were ~205,000 more votes recorded than votes cast in PA.
It Looks Like Trump is Correct. Either Way, the Allegations are Worth Investigating
Given that the final vote tally certified by Pennsylvania showed Biden ahead of Trump by 80,555 votes, Trump’s claim that there were more votes than voters in PA, even if not properly stated, is an important one. the number of potentially fraudulent ballots exceeds the margin of victory by more than 200%!
That needs to be investigated. Perhaps the PA Republicans’ claim that there were more votes than voters in PA is based on incomplete data. Maybe something else makes it untrue. But, based on the data we have, it appears to be true. That means it needs to be investigated so that America knows the truth about voter fraud in the 2020 election.
