LOL: MSNBC Host Joy Reid Just Got the Worst News of Her Career

How are things at MSNBC, perhaps the wokest of the woke cable news outlets? Not great. In fact, they’re so bad that Joy Reid, host of “The ReidOut,” just got the worst news of her entire career.

What was that news? That her show got the smallest number of viewers it has ever gotten and that she underperformed even the early, early morning Fox News Channel programming despite being on during primetime.

Fox News, predictably taking glee at that absolute failure of MSNBC, a channel that would be its competitor if the two weren’t on opposite ends of the ideological spectrum, reported:

MSNBC host Joy Reid’s “ReidOut” finished April with its smallest monthly audience in the far-left program’s nearly two-year history.

“ReidOut” averaged 1.1 million viewers during the news-heavy month, a 31% decline from April of last year. She also shed 11% of viewers who tuned in last month and a staggering 51% compared to the show’s debut month of July 2020.

“ReidOut” has also lost 57% of her total audience among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54 since the program launched in July 2020, finishing April with a dismal demo average of only 124,000 viewers. “ReidOut” viewership during April was MSNBC’s least-watched month during the weeknight 7 p.m. hour among the critical demo since July 2015.

During April, every single Fox News Channel weekday program – including “FOX & Friends First” which airs from 4-6 a.m. ET – outdrew “The ReidOut.”

So, not only did Joy do absolutely terribly when compared against herself, but she failed utterly when compared against Fox and managed to lose most of her audience. Yet worse, perhaps, she had almost no viewers in the prime advertising demographic, as Just the News noted, saying:

On Friday, Joy Reid had 109,000 viewers in that coveted advertiser demographic while Jesse Watters had more than triple that number, per Mediate.

And no wonder, as she’s woke beyond belief. Take a quick read of this excerpt from one of her shows, for example, and see if it’s something you’d listen to if the option were between listening to it and being tortured to death by the Huns:

It was distressing to a lot of people, not least of which the people who work at Twitter. Who, you know, in their internal Slacks are really — a lot of them are wringing their hands, probably not all of them, but a lot of them, and just worried about what becomes of their company.

“Elon Musk’s companies have a history of open racism. You know, there’s been this lawsuit against Tesla, and he himself is a troll. So his idea of freedom means freedom to be a jerk and to be cruel and to have no one be able to stop you.

“They don’t want to just be in the club. They are on the — they’ve been described as being on the outside of the culture looking in through the glass, but they don’t just want to come in. They want to come in and be able to punch people in the face and walk around and laugh about it and to not have anyone be able to stop them.

“The thing is, the enjoyment they get out of being in this ‘town square’ is being able to harass people being able to attack people. There was a time when people had the double hashtags around their names because they were Jewish, and right-wingers were saying get in the oven any time you made any benign comment on Twitter.

“They attacked women. The misogyny was crazy on Twitter for a while. Elon Musk, I guess he misses the old South Africa in the ’80s. He wants that back.

I would include a video, but out of mercy I’ll refrain from doing so. Instead I’ll just call over Attila, as I’m pretty sure anyone who read that would go with being tortured by the Huns rather than watching a full hour of Joy Reid.

No wonder she got terrible news: she and her program are terrible.
