Well, nothing lasts forever, even the Clinton Crime Syndicate’s ability to slip out of trouble like a trout from a fatigued fisherman’s fingers. That incredible ability to get out of trouble, impressive as it might have been from the cattle futures scandal Hillary was involved in to her email server, from Bill’s public infidelity to the Benghazi disaster, could finally be over.
That’s because even Democrats are turning on Hillary in the wake of the Durham bombshell, calling for her to be investigated and her crimes exposed. Yes, really. As the Daily Mail recently reported:
A growing chorus of Democrats believe 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should be questioned by special advisor John Durham for her alleged role in the Russian secret server scandal in a poll conducted before bombshell revelations that her team spied on Donald Trump’s campaign.
In a poll last month, 66 percent of Democrats wanted Clinton questioned, a whopping 22 percentage points higher than how many in her party demanded a probe last October, according to TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) research.
The amount of Republicans demanding answers is also swelling, rising to 91 percent in January from 80 percent last October. Among the independent crowd, those wanting the former secretary of state probed rose to 74 percent from 65 percent.
That’s incredible. The number from Republicans is bad but predictable and the number from moderates/swing voters worrying but also predictable, but the poll result showing that even Democrats want her investigated is both horrible and shocking.
What’s particularly bad is that it’s a supermajority; if under half, perhaps she could pull the strings of public sentiment and somehow turn her party back into a bulwark against GOP investigations and attacks. If she had a majority on her side, even a slight one, that could have been possible.
But now it’s not. Now, thanks to the information Durham released, Hillary is in deep trouble because the majority of voices on even the left are calling for her to be probed. That’s very, very bad news.
Worst of all for her is that it means her once-legendary ability to slip through the fingers of those going after her could be gone for good; with everyone in the country against her and public interest in her wrongdoings reinvigorated by Durham, she’ll have trouble hiding under a rock and waiting for her minions to provide her with enough covering fire to start defending herself.
And with Trump’s social media site coming out at such an opportune time, meaning that he’ll be able to start directly communicating with his base once again, interest in making sure justice is served in regards to Clinton probably won’t be going away.
She had a good run, escaped from a number of scandals that probably would have done in less talented (at slipping away, not political maneuvering in the first place) people, but now it looks like it’s all over for Hillary: Americans want her investigated.
