Humor: The Left’s Contradictory Beliefs about Guns

When you think about it, he’s right. These are the left’s two general, current beliefs about guns and the power of the citizenry and the two are completely incompatible.

First off, it’s common to hear from the left that it’s okay to confiscate guns, especially those scary black rifles, because they’d be useless when fighting the state. “Why do you need to own an ‘assault rifle,'” they say, “if it would be useless against an F-16 or main battle tank?”

Of course, the logical answer is that it’d be useful against the crew members of those weapon systems, not to mention other agents of tyranny and support personnel, but arguing with a leftist is like banging one’s head against a wall, so that reasonable explanation is usually left unsaid.

And, in any case, their other belief completely contradicts their take on guns. That is, they think a group of a few hundred people trespassing on January 6th almost took over the government and ended democracy as we know it.

That’s right, the same people that claim your AR-15 is useless, even when wielded against the state by tens of millions of citizens, also claim that a small number of unarmed people walking through open doors almost destroyed America’s current government…

The truth, of course, is that the left is wrong on both counts. AR-15s would be useful tools with which to fight tyranny and the trespassers of Jan. 6th were nowhere near being able to take over the government. And, unlike the left’s beliefs on the two subjects, that’s not a contradiction.
