“Kids are Dying”: Chicago’s Woke Mayor Blasted for Ridiculous Tweet about Banning Books

Mayor Lori Lightfoot might look like the Penguin from Batman, but she’s nowhere near as smart as him. In fact, given how dumb her recent tweet about books was (and the reading level required for the book she was reading), I’d peg her IQ firmly in the “room temperature” range. And that’s in a cold room.

In any case, Mayor Lori decided that, while her city of Chiraq was a bloodbath rivaling Fallujah in ’06, the real issue is…some phantom threat to read “To Kill a Mockingbird”. So she posted this tweet:

In Texas, reading any damn book I choose. No banning of books or thought. Ever.

Now, the tweet is obviously ridiculous. For one, her city was sounding like Mogadishu or Baghdad that weekend, with more than a dozen people gunned down by the near-constant violence that Chiraq is known for. Perhaps she should have been focusing on fixing that crisis rather than reading a book meant for middle-schoolers in Texas

Further, it’s not Republicans that even want to ban that book. The only people who want to ban it are, at this point, Democrats furious that it uses a certain six letter word that starts with “n”.

So, in what was one of the best moments since Psaki was ripped to pieces for her snow tweet, Chiraq Mayor Lori Lightfoot was torn to shreds on Twitter. Here are some of the best responses:

Are you sure you’re not in Gavin Newsom’s California?

1) The push to remove To Kill a Mockingbird from schools has lately mostly come from the left.

2) Chicago is a disaster right now. There were multiple shootings this weekend that involved kids. You would think the Mayor would be a little more focused on her own city than TX.

And here ladies and gentlemen you’ll see and idiot in an Easter suit pretending to read non existent black and white pictures in an old book about a little girl, a rabid dog and a superstitious introvert named Boo Radley, while the homicide rate in Chicago is steadily increasing

Lori is banning books.

Was it to dangerous in your own city to go to the library? Or was all the books burned or stolen? I’m pretty sure Texas isn’t fond of having you.

While the 🤡 reads in a faraway land, kids are dying:

“A 16-year-old boy has died after being shot near The Bean in Millennium Park during a “large group” incident tonight, per Chicago Police.” —

Get mugged walking down the street but at least this broad is out here fighting the fight against banned books.

Whichever Texan said Beetlejuice 3 times needs to be investigated and lose their citizenship… cc:

Let me just put my mask on and go to a book store and sit on a stool facing the wall and read a novel. This is a normal thing that real humans often do.

Not to be outdone by Gavin Newsom’s remarkable ignorance, the mayor of Chicago just posed while reading To Kill a Mockingbird, which was recently banned by Burbank, CA, one of the most far left cities in the country, where Biden won in 2020 by 50-75 points

Absolutely remarkable
