Generally, I hate the question “what would Jesus do?” It was created by a socialist, and, predictably, is used to push people toward leftist-favorable outcomes, not necessarily things Jesus actually would do. Rarely, for example, do people with a “WWJD” bracelet do anything self-sacrificial or chase moneylenders around with a whip.
In any case, it can, very rarely, be a good point. I think this meme highlights one: did Jesus social distance from lepers? No. He met with them, healed them, spent time around them.
As is said in Mark 1:40-45:
40 iAnd a leper8 came to him, imploring him, and jkneeling said to him, k“If you will, you can make me clean.” 41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” 42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. 43 And lJesus9 sternly charged him and sent him away at once, 44 and said to him, m“See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, nshow yourself to the priest and ooffer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, pfor a proof to them.” 45 qBut he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter ra town, but was out in rdesolate places, and speople were coming to him from every quarter.
Back in the day, people were terrified of lepers and refused to be around them. Jesus showed grace, mercy, and humanity by bucking that trend and touching the leper. Even when faced with an (actually) deadly and debilitating virus, she showed the “dirty” lepers the same grace, attention, and love that he showed others.
Would any liberal act like that now, with someone infected with Covid?
Nope! They won’t even deal with the unvaccinated!
Back in Jesus’ time, there was probably good reason to not hang around the leper colonies. Sanitation wasn’t properly understood yet, nor were viruses, and leprosy condemned anyone infected to a slow, horrible death.
There’s no such reason today. Covid ain’t all that deadly and the worriers have their damn vaccine. If it’s so effective, as they tell us it is when demanding we take it, why aren’t they satisfied? Why do they still demand we get the jab, demand we social distance, and demand we wear masks? Aren’t they safe?
Even if not, isn’t it worthwhile to love and respect others? That’s what they claim when demanding we let in millions of criminal illegals, why won’t they act that way?
Because they’re cowards and hypocrites. Call them on it.
