“I Blame Every Single One of You Woke Voters”: Famous Singer Slams Wokeness, Blames It for Disturbing Crime Climb in Beverly Hills

Katharine McPhee shared an Instagram story in which she clearly blames woke voters for the increase in violence in Beverly Hills. The former “American Idol” participant expressed her displeasure with the “sad state” that Los Angeles is in.

I blame every single one of you woke voters,” she said. “Seniors getting beat up while walking. Keep voting for this. What a sad state this city is in.”

The “seniors getting beat up while walking” bit was probably a reference to this recent, high-profile attack, where a homeless man assaulted an elderly man at a restaurant and stole his wallet. He was only stopped because one brave onlooker jumped into action and tackled and then subdued the homeless villain, keeping him pinned to the ground until the police arrived.

Given the high level of crime in the area, however, it’s hard to know which exact story she was referring to.

During her rant, the singer claimed that she would no longer walk around Los Angeles wearing her pricey jewelry, particularly on her wrists and fingers. She also addressed Rick Caruso, who is running for mayor of Los Angeles, in her posts.

McPhee, 38, reshared a post about an old guy being “jumped,” “mugged, and beat up” in Beverly Hills.  “This is literally my worry and thought every time I go out now. We need @rickcarusola,” she went on to explain. McPhee continued: “What’s this world coming to?”

The following slide featured a chat between her and her friend Sara Mann, who gave her the advice not to wear any expensive jewelry.

Mann instructed McPhee, “Don’t wear your Rolex.” No rings, no watches, McPhee replied. “This is the real life text/convos you have with fam and friends about living in LA now. We need @rickcarusola,” she added the text below the screenshot.

Later, McPhee uploaded a photo of herself holding her hands in the air to prove that she was not wearing any expensive jewelry.

She wrote, “No rings watches, or anything out in LA anymore,” before tagging Caruso once more, reported Fox News.

The American Idol star has openly expressed her political views. McPhee criticized Stacey Abrams, a candidate for governor of Georgia, for posing without a mask with a group of children, although the mandate was still on.

“What the actual hell… politicians at their finest. Mask up the children, and you yourself sit without a mask. The hypocrisy continues,” McPhee said on her Instagram page. “I’m sure she will say… ‘but I had my mask in my hand!’”

Abrams quickly replied to the backlash. “It is shameful that our opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack, and it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes to protecting public health during the pandemic,” a statement from Abrams’ campaign posted to Instagram reads.
