As Russian and Belarusian armed forces are being deployed to Kazakhstan in a desperate attempt to stop rioters who are furious with Kazakhstan’s government for doubling the price of petroleum gas, reports have now surfaced that the Ex-security chief of Kazakhstan has now been arrested for treason.
A statement from Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee declared that former Security Chief Karim Massimov was arrested for treason. There were no further details on why Massinov was charged.
Massimov was not only the former Security Chief, but he was also the former Prime Minister for close to a decade.
So, some bureaucrat in Kazakhstan, the country made fun of in Borat that since has turned into even more of a third-world shithole thanks to riots and streetfighting was arrested. Why does that matter?
Well, normally it wouldn’t. Corruption and bureaucratic infighting in the former USSR isn’t exactly breaking news, after all. But there’s a catch here: the recently arrested security chief met with Brandon and Brandon’s son, as you can see in the picture at the top of the page.
That picture, on the Kazakhstan Initiative On Asset Recovery (KIAR) in 2019, shows Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and former Security chief Karim Massimov. In the uncropped version, another Kazakhstan oligarch, Kenes Rakishev, stands to Hunter’s right.
The Daily Mail, reporting on the bombshell photo, had this to say:
In the image – which was published on the website of an anti-corruption group called the Kazakhstani Initiative on Asset Recovery and has not been independently verified – Joe and Hunter are seen smiling alongside Rakishev and Kazakhstan’s former prime minister Karim Mossimov.
DailyMail.com lifted the lid on Hunter’s alleged relationship with Rakishev last week, revealing that between 2012 and 2014 the former VP’s son worked as a sort of go-between helping the Kazak businessman broker US investments.
Emails passed to The Mail via anti-corruption campaigners from the Central Asian country revealed that Hunter held extensive meetings with Rakishev, who has close family ties to the kleptocratic regime of his homeland’s despotic former president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Hunter also traveled to the Kazakh capital of Astana to hold business discussions with Rakishev, who was apparently looking to invest a portion of his personal fortune in New York and Washington DC.
Yikes. That’s a pretty deep relationship between Hunter and a Kazak oligarch, though it should be noted that the one described by the Daily Mail is not the oligarch that was arrested for treason. That was the other guy in the photo.
Still, it’s concerning that Brandon and his son are connected to an oligarch who was just arrested for treason, and that Hunter was doing sketchy business over there in the first place. As the Daily Mail put it, “The unverified photo fueled speculation that Hunter may have dragged his father into the oligarch’s orbit as well – deepening a long-standing controversy over Hunter’s overseas business dealings when Joe was VP.”
Fuel speculation it does. What else is the Biden Crime Family hiding? What other corrupt, treasonous oligarchs else did Hunter lobby? The public needs to know.
