Two phone calls by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to his Chinese counterpart, promising a U.S. military standdown in event of war, constitute the treasonous behavior
America’s Conservative Voice has learned that a new book shows General Mark Milley reassured China’s People’s Liberal Army General Li Zuocheng that he would give the communist country a heads up if President Donald Trump launched an attack in the final months of his presidency. He did so in a series of reported phone calls and reassured Li he would stand between Trump and an attack on Chinese assets.
In a pair of secret phone calls, Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, assured his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army, that the United States would not strike. The information is detailed in the book by The Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward and national political reporters Robert Costa. Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker.
One call took place on October 30, 2020, four days before the election that unseated President Trump, The other on January 8, 2021, two days after the demonstrations on Capitol Hill ludicrously labeled an “insurrection” by Fascist Left conspirators in Congress and the media.
“General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay,” Milley told him. “We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you.”
Multiple news sources ― including the mainstream media ― are reporting that several Pentagon officers present in Milley’s secret meeting are willing to testify against him under oath, per a former Trump White House official. Milley denied at the time that he had received any pressure from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to deny Trump access to the nuclear codes, but the Woodward-Costa book indicated he ordered his staff to ignore all orders except his, following a series of conversations with China and Pelosi.
In the book’s account, Milley went so far as to pledge he would alert his counterpart in the event of a U.S. attack, stressing the rapport they’d established through a backchannel. “General Li, you and I have known each other now for five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”
Stop and consider the implications of that statement. The highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. military was going to inform the enemy of that military, of this country, that we were going on an active war footing. The ramifications for such a despicable act are mind-boggling. But that was not all this traitor in Army green did.
Milley has long since proven himself to be an unreliable, uncommitted military leader. Not to be outdone by private enterprise’s allegiance to wokeism, making it a go-to remedy for both corporate America and far-left politicians to save their bottom lines from bad press, Milley, a military champion of critical race theory, is poised to be no exception.
A botched withdrawal has led to terrorist control of more territory than before 9/11, and they are now armed with billions in American firepower — something to the tune of $18 billion. Milley has been more concerned with diversity in the military than he has been with the resurgence of the Taliban. In fact, Milley, as well as Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, talked about diversity at the Pentagon’s 9/11 remembrance instead of praising bravery, sacrifice, honor, duty, and country exhibited by those lost.
Believing that China could lash out if it felt at risk from an unpredictable and vengeful American president, Milley took his dubious action. The same day, he called the admiral overseeing the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the military unit responsible for Asia and the Pacific region, and recommended postponing the military exercises, according to the book. The admiral complied.
Milley also summoned senior officers to review the procedures for launching nuclear weapons, saying the president alone could give the order — but, crucially, that he, Milley, also had to be involved. That was a total and complete falsehood. Only the president can make that final decision.
Looking each in the eye, Milley asked the officers to affirm that they had understood, the authors write, in what he considered an “oath.” In other words, Milley instructed senior officers to obey his orders and to ignore those given by the duly elected Commander-In-Chief, President Donald J. Trump.
Milley usurped the power of the Oval Office.
That outrageous behavior has sparked additional calls for Milley to resign and even for his arrest. They are valid calls, fitting for the subversive nature of his actions.
Milley and others apparently fervently believed that Trump was “unhinged” and would attempt to start a war with China or Russia, or perhaps foment a coup to overthrown the Constitution, following his loss in the November election. Their judgments were grossly off-base and the actions Milley, in particular, constitute treason.
According to Defense and State Department veterans who spoke with America’s Conservative Voice on condition of anonymity, Milley’s conclusions were a giant leap of assumption with no factual basis for reaching them. There were no Chinese nor Russian military movements indicating either country was on high security alert. There was no reason for Milley to make the highly illegal and treasonous decision to contact an enemy to assure them the U.S. would make no aggressive moves toward that country.
The idea that Donald Trump, an astute businessman with no political background but an innate sense of right and wrong would start a war, conventional or nuclear, in a fit of pique regarding the stolen U.S. election, is ridiculous. Milley abandoned his responsibilities as a U.S. Army general, much more so his loyalty as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He must be punished to the fullest extent of the law, even if that means execution.
What Milley did was essentially a surrender to a hostile foreign power.
The book, “I Alone Can Fix It,” released Tuesday, chronicles Trump’s final year as president, with a behind-the-scenes look at how disloyal senior administration officials and Leftist plants among Trump’s inner circle navigated the final months he was in office. The authors interviewed Trump for more than two hours.
The book recounts how for the first time in modern U.S. history the nation’s top military officer, whose role is to advise the president, was preparing for a showdown with the commander in chief because he feared a coup attempt after Trump lost the November election.
Let us be clear, regardless of his concerns, it is the president and only the president who has the constitutional power to make those decisions.
The authors try to justify Milley’s alleged “growing concerns” that personnel moves that put Trump acolytes in positions of power at the Pentagon after the November 2020 election, including the firing of Defense Secretary Mark Esper and the resignation of Attorney General William Barr, were the sign of something sinister to come.
Milley spoke to friends, lawmakers and colleagues about the threat of a coup, and the Joint Chiefs chairman felt he had to be “on guard” for what might come. Truthfully, that is unhinged thinking in its own right.
“They may try, but they’re not going to fucking succeed,” Milley told his deputies, according to the authors. “You can’t do this without the military. You can’t do this without the CIA and the FBI. We’re the guys with the guns.”
In the days leading up to January 6, the authors write, Milley ― irrationally, in our view, but not theirs ― voiced concern that Trump’s call to action of his supporters would lead to some kind of attempt to hold on to power. “Milley told his staff that he believed Trump was stoking unrest, possibly in hopes of an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act and call out the military,” the Fascist Left authors proclaim.
Milley viewed Trump as “the classic authoritarian leader with nothing to lose,” the authors pontificate, and he saw parallels between Adolf Hitler’s rhetoric as a victim and savior and Trump’s false claims of election fraud.
“This is a Reichstag moment,” Milley told aides, according to the book. “The gospel of the Führer.”
Such a viewpoint borders on not just treason, but also insanity Insane, treasonous generals are dangerous.
Ahead of a November pro-Trump “Million MAGA March” to protest the election results, Milley told aides he feared it “could be the modern American equivalent of ‘Brown Shirts in the streets,’” referring to the pro-Nazi militia that fueled Hitler’s rise to power. It wasn’t. It was the only peaceful demonstration in Washington, D.C. all of last year.
What is more surprising than Milley’s treason is the four WaPo writers not seeing his words, actions and beliefs as unhinged, in and of themselves. Milley, if he still believes these things to have been necessary and right, is a dangerous, unhinged man in charge of a nuclear arsenal he has already proven himself to be willing to commandeer rather than keep it within the sole purview of his Commander-In-Chief, where it is constitutionally seated.
There are many treasons acts detailed in this book, though the authors appear either incapable of labeling them as such, or ignorant of what they have detailed.
The American people must demand that our elected representatives do something about it. Milley must be arrested, tried and convicted of treason, and the just punishment as determined by his peers meted out.
