Drag Queen Story Hour is a horrific idea on every level. For one, the idea of indoctrinating children in the woke ideology is horrible on its face; children should be taught American values and about what is conventionally acceptable, not that men dressing as women in a flamboyant fashion is somehow normal or good. Secondly, and more importantly, putting children in a room with open sexual deviants is a terrible idea. As the recent arrest of a DQSH proponent on child porn charges shows, such people can’t be entrusted with our youth.
“DQSH has brought not just one, not two, but at least three convicted sex criminals, two of whom are convicted pedophiles, into confined spaces with large numbers of young children on multiple occasions. Its events also have been sponsored by a man who’s been charged with seven counts of child pornography possession. So much for the “safe space” that drag queen “Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker” claims the program provides.”
What’s more, those reasons to think that Drag Queen Story Hour is a bad idea aren’t subtle. When you see images like the one below, they’re quite obvious:
Who in their right mind would put their kids in a room with a tattooed man proudly dressed as a female devil? Hopefully no one. The man in the picture is obviously a delusional deviant, putting kids in his care will lead to nothing good.
And parents get that it’s a bad idea; over 78,000 people have signed one petition to get rid of drag queen story hour for good and parents in cities as small as Rye, NY have fought to kick drag queen story hour out of their local libraries.
Yet the organization continues to receive massive amounts of funding. How?
Well, returning to Mr. Lindquist’s excellent Federalist article, the organization is funded, in large part, by San Francisco liberals:
“The Zellerbach Family Foundation, which is perhaps better known for funding refugee resettlement programs, gave to Radar Productions in 2015, 2016, and 2018 while it was managing Drag Queen Story Hour. The foundation is based in San Francisco, where the organization’s namesake started a paper business in 1868. The Walter and Elise Haas Fund, which is also based in San Francisco, gave Radar Productions $10,000 in 2018.
The San Francisco Arts Commission, an agency of the city government, gave Radar $38,000 between 2015 and 2018, while the California Arts Council, a state agency, donated a whopping $74,040 to Radar Productions between 2015 and 2018.
The Horizons Foundation, yet another pro-LGBT organization based in San Francisco, gave Radar $24,500 from 2007 to 2012, before Drag Queen Story Hour was created, but Radar Productions still lists Horizons as a donor on its website. Furthermore, the Horizons Foundation, which is funded by PG&E, Facebook, City National Bank, and a number of other prominent corporations, advertises Drag Queen Story Hour as a program of one of its “grantee partners.”’
That’s bad news for America. It means, in effect, that a few leftist donors in coastal enclaves can dictate the culture the rest of us must live and suffer in. Gone are the days when cultures in different states, cities, and localities could be different. Now, thanks to easier flows of capital to political organization across state lines and the fabulous wealth possessed by a militantly deviant few in coastal enclaves, we all must live by the same code of conduct as those degenerate coastal elites.
Thanks to the likes of the San Francisco Arts Commission, the Horizons Foundation, and the Zellerbach Family Foundation, all Americans must let pedophiles and deviants read to children in libraries.
It’s sick, disgusting, and just another example of our decaying culture.
