Ted Cruz, despite his dumb comment about the January 6th protesters, is one of the strongest conservatives and biggest fighters in the Senate. While he might be outdone by Rand Paul generally, and from time to time by Hawley, Cruz is certainly one of the biggest brawlers in the Senate, almost always more than willing to stand up for conservatism against the crazy leftists.
That was apparent yet again when he took the FBI to task over its potential involvement in January 6th, blasting the evasive official that was trying to dodge his questions, and then later going back on Fox and skewering that evasive official on Fox. Watch that here:

But, while that wasn’t certainly awesome, it wasn’t all Cruz was up to. Later, Ted showed his rock-ribbed credentials yet again, absolutely blasting a leftie reporter that was whining about masks. It was embarrassing for the idiotic reporter, hilarious for everyone watching, and a brilliant moment for Cruz.

As you can hear in the video, Cruz, who was giving a press conference on the Democrats’ attempts to eliminate the filibuster, was questioned, along with his fellow Republicans, on why they were not wearing masks. Cruz quickly shot down the question and angrily skewered the reporter’s bias. In his words:
“And by the way, on the question of hypocrisy, you just asked, you people at the podium are speaking without masks. Just once, I’d like to see a reporter say to Joe Biden when he stands at the damn podium in the White House without a mask, ‘Mr. President, why aren’t you wearing a mask?'” Cruz said angrily. “Just once, I’d like to see you say to Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, when she stands at the podium with no mask, ‘Ms. Psaki, why don’t you have a mask?’ The questions are only directed at one side, and I got to say that the American people see the hypocrisy.”
It was a brilliant response, just what was needed to slap the reporter down. Cruz’s banging on the podium might have been a bit much, but it certainly helped get the point across.
Further, Cruz blasted the general hypocrisy on masks, saying:
“I think there’s been wild hypocrisy from the Biden administration when it comes to COVID policies [on] mask mandates where Joe Biden rightly said we shouldn’t have mandates, [on] vaccine mandates where Joe Biden said we shouldn’t have vaccine mandates. As far as I know, everyone here has been vaccinated, double vaccinated, been boosted at some point.
I do know Dr. Fauci’s been all over the map about it. He’s said yes masks, no masks, he’s said, ‘Oh, I lied to the American people because they couldn’t handle it.’ At some point, the American people ought to be able to exercise their own freedom and make their decision.”
What a great response! Just what America needs to hear!
