The Media Lied about Brian Sicknick’s Death

More MSM Lies: How did Brian Sicknick Really Die?

Remember how we were told, shortly after the mass trespass at the Capitol, that 5 people had died because of the “act of sedition” or “coup” and that all Trump supporters were responsible for their deaths? I do. In any case, it turned out that that information was, at best, partially true. In regard to Brian Sicknick, the police officer who sadly died that day, it was absolutely untrue.

For one, the only person actually killed on Jan. 6 was Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran who was shot in the neck by an LEO for crawling though a window. She was unarmed and not doing anything violent. The other three people who died died of “medical emergencies,” whatever that means, not injuries sustained during the day’s events.

And that leaves Brian Sicknick, the police officer who sadly died on Jan. 6. The problem is that, while Democrats blamed Trump supporters for his death and even let his body lie in state, there’s no evidence that he died because of anything protesters did. In fact, despite the media preaching for months that he died after being bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher, that appears to be entirely untrue. Here’s what American Greatness hat to say:

“In a quiet but stunning correction, the New York Times backed away from its original report that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was killed by a Trump supporter wielding a fire extinguisher during the January 6 melee at the Capitol building. Shortly after American Greatness published my column Friday that showed how the Times gradually was backpedaling on its January 8 bombshell, the paper posted this caveat:

UPDATE: New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.

The paper continued to revise its story within the body of the original January 8 story: “Law enforcement officials initially said Mr. Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher, but weeks later, police sources and investigators were at odds over whether he was hit. Medical experts have said he did not die of blunt force trauma, according to one law enforcement official.”

So, in other words. It was all made up. He wasn’t hit in the head with a fire extinguisher. No one bludgeoned him to death. The lying MSM just made that up to make Trump and his supporters look bad.

And no, it wasn’t just the failing NYT spreading that lie. In the words of Revolver News, the whole gang was involved:

“Every MSM outlet from USAToday to the NY Post to the Daily Dot repeated that Sicknick was “bludgeoned by a fire extinguisher.” Not “sources say.” Not “many believe” — just a totally unqualified, unequivocal statement of fact.”

But, while we found out that their contention that he died of bludgeoning was untrue, there was little about what actually happened, as Glenn Greenwald noted:

But, fortunately, some organizations were able to discover what actually happened. Here are the details, which also come from Revolver:

“Law enforcement officials now tell CNN that there was no fire extinguisher blow, no bloody gash, and no blunt force trauma to Sicknick’s body when he died.

Not only that, but it is increasingly unclear when, where and if Sicknick was even rushed to the hospital

As it turns out, multiple hours after the protest had already concluded, Sicknick texted his own brother Ken that very night he was basically fine, other than being “pepper sprayed twice,” confirming he was safe and “in good shape.”’

Here’s the truth about his death, according to Revolver:

“Sometime between Sicknick being fine, healthy, and back in his office on Wednesday night, and dead or effectively dead on early Thursday evening, Sicknick apparently suffered a stroke. The sequence of when and how that happened should be the easiest part of this story to put to bed. And yet we are being told to take this on faith — or as the media likes to say: “without evidence.”’

While that distinction might not seem important to some people, it certainly is. It is what makes the difference between murder and tragedy, a violent “insurrection” and a mass trespass. As Joy Pullman said on The Federalist:

“For truth’s sake, therefore, we must recognize there is a difference between dying of a heart attack or of an adverse reaction to pepper spray versus being bludgeoned to death by murderous rioters wielding a fire extinguisher. Laws recognize such distinctions by providing different degrees of culpability for those accused of homicide, from manslaughter to premeditated murder.”

So, whether it was a heart attack, stroke, or some other cause, such as an allergic reaction, the cause of Brian Sicknick’s death was not his being beaten to death by Trump supporters. After the rally and riot, he texted his brother and said he was fine!

It is a tragedy that Officer Sicknick passed. But we must not allow that tragedy to distract us from the truth, which is that the MSM lied and the cause of death was not a fire extinguisher.
