Rep. Omar just isn’t a good person. She’s the one who said that “some people did something” when describing 9/11, trashes America despite fleeing her from Somalia of all places, and is a noted anti-Semite that routinely attacks Israel.
Of course, she’s a minority and on the left, so she’s usually beyond criticism when it comes time for the media to hold people accountable.
But a few people are willing to hold her accountable for her vicious smears and nasty attitude, namely Rand Paul and Lauren Boebert.
Boebert in particular set the left off with her joke about Omar, watch it here:
Over the Thanksgiving break, Lauren Boebert said she was recently in a Capitol elevator with Ilhan Omar when a fretful Capitol police officer ran up.
Lauren Boebert said: “Well, she doesn’t have a backpack. We should be fine.”
Boebert then called Ilhan Omar, “jihad squad.” pic.twitter.com/Y7f0nFbnud

As you can hear in the video, she says:
“So the other night on the House floor was not my first jihad squad moment,” Boebert began. “I was getting into an elevator with one of my staffers and he and I were leaving the Capitol, we’re going back to my office and we get in the elevator and I see a Capitol Police officer running hurriedly to the elevator. I see fret all over his face. And he’s reaching. The door is shutting. I can’t open it. What’s happening? I look to my left and there she is, Ilhan Omar, and I said, ‘Well she doesn’t have a backpack, we should be fine.’ ”
“So we only had one floor to go and I say, do I say it or do I not? And I look over and I say, ‘Look, the jihad squad decided to show up for work today.’ Don’t worry, it’s just her staffers on Twitter that talk for her. She’s not tough in person”
Hilarious! Not PC, of course, but hilarious!
Rand Paul, speaking to Breitbart, hit Omar particularly hard too, calling her out for trashing America despite having fled here from Somalia. In his words:
“I hear Rep. Omar say, ‘Oh, America is a terrible place. I thought there’d be justice but there’s no justice here. It’s like, she came here and we fed her, we clothed her, she got welfare, she got school, she got healthcare, and lo and behold she has the honor of actually winning a seat in Congress and she says we’re a terrible country. I think that’s about as ungrateful as you can get.”
“So while I’m not saying we forcibly send her anywhere, I’m willing to contribute to buy her a ticket to go visit Somalia and I think she could look and maybe learn a little bit about the disaster that is Somalia, that has no capitalism, has no God-given rights guaranteed in a Constitution and has about seven different tribes that have been fighting each other for the last 40 years. And then maybe after she’s visited Somalia for a while she might come back and appreciate America more.”
Oof, Omar=wrecked!
Both of those are old stories, Boebert’s joke coming from 2021 and Rand Paul’s from a whopping two and a half years ago now. But, both are important to keep in mind heading into the 2022 elections; they show that the left can be mocked, can be hit back at. It just takes some courage.
So, who did a better job, Rand Paul or Lauren Boebert?
