Bill Maher: The Left’s Refusal To Acknowledge Progress Is A Sickness

I know that Bill Maher is on the left. But, frankly, at this point I couldn’t care. He calls out the left better than most Republicans, as you can see in the above video.

Rather than scrape, bow, and genuflect before the altar of wokeness, he calls out everyone and everything as he sees fit, including the left. His video on the US being full of silly people is another particularly good and particularly honest video.

For those that can’t watch, Maher scorches the ridiculous view of progressives that the United States has not made any progress on cultural issues, namely race relations and gay marriage (remember Biden saying that Jim Crow laws still exist?).

As an example, at one point Maher says “But saying that White power and privilege is at an all-time high is just ridiculous. Higher than a century ago, the year of the Tulsa Race Massacre? Higher than the years when the KKK rode unchecked and Jim Crow went unchallenged? Higher than the 1960s when The Supremes and Willie Mays still couldn’t stay at the same hotel as the White people they were working with? Higher than during slavery?”

Also in the video, Maher calls such peopel “progressophobia,” meaning “a brain disorder that strikes liberals and makes them incapable of recognizing progress.”

The point isn’t that everything is perfect. I’d say we’ve made too much “progress” in some areas, especially sex and gender issues, and far too little in others. But progress has been made, and the refusal of leftists to accept that is extraordinarily cynical and wrong.
