It’s rare for Americans to suffer under the yoke of a president with no redeeming qualities; most of the bad ones have had at least something good about them that marginally offsets the bad.
Jimmy Carter, for example, was a disaster whose presidency was marked by inflation, disaster abroad, and economic weakness. But, at least he was (and still is) a faithful Christian and honorable man. That doesn’t completely offset the bad, of course, but it’s a start.
Similarly, HW Bush and his son were both terrible. But at least HW won a major victory that didn’t turn into a quagmire and GW united the country and showed strength in those terrible days following 9/11.
And FDR was a socialist whose administration, as you can read about in Whittaker Chambers’ Witness, was full of commie fellow travellers and pinkos. But at least he laid the groundwork for victory in the titanic conflict that was WWII, developed the atomic bomb that gave us an advantage over the Soviets and meant we didn’t have to invade Japan.
The list could go on, but that would be unnecessary. Point is, at least most of the bad presidents had some redeeming personal characteristic or did something well.
Not so with Slow Joe. Under him, literally everything has been a disaster and he has no redeeming personal characteristics.
We’ll start with the bad policies. Rather than enumerate every single one, from inflation to catastrophe in Afghanistan, let’s try to think of anything he’s done well. Can you think of anything? I can’t.
From race relations to the economy, foreign policy to his handling, every single thing he has touched has turned not to gold but to sewage. Our allies don’t trust us, our enemies don’t fear us, tyranny is growing ever more prevalent at home, and the economy is trending worse. Biden’s a disaster from a policy standpoint.
And, unlike his closest equivalent, Jimmy Carter, Biden doesn’t have any personal qualities that make up for it.
His speeches, full as they are of his inane rambling and semi-senile muttering, inspire worry, not confidence. The diary of his daughter, Ashley Biden, indicate that he’s a pervert. Plus, he probably sexually assaulted Tara Reid. He’s not a real Catholic. His living son Hunter is…a disaster, to put it midly. And, when he’s coherent enough to speak in full sentences, he makes an ass of himself.
So no, Biden isn’t a good president nor is he a good man. Rather, he’s a rambling trainwreck of a sleazy, senile politician.
As such, his motto shouldn’t be “build back better.” It should be “live worse.”
