Joe Biden Calls for Gun Control: Are Restrictive Gun Laws Inbound?

It Finally Happened: Joe Biden Calls for More Gun Control

Well, unsurprisingly, Joe Biden is now calling for new gun control laws. Dismissing the fact that gun control is unconstitutional and tyrannical, our senile Retirement Home Resident in Chief is calling for Congress to enact more idiotic gun control laws. The past bills haven’t done anything other than restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens, but Biden’s determined to give it another go! Here’s what a few outlets report is happening:

From the National Review

“President Biden called on Congress to enact sweeping gun control legislation on Sunday, marking three years since the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooting…

The National review also includes these comments made. Ostensibly, they were heartfelt please in support of saving the children. In reality, we know what’s really going on. He’s using “the children” as cover for his radical gun control policies:

“Today, as we mourn with the Parkland community, we mourn for all who have lost loved ones to gun violence,” Biden said in a statement on Sunday. “We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer. Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.”

From The Hill

According to The Hill, “gun violence prevention groups” met with officials in Biden’s Administration to plot how to push forward gun control policies that the American public has rejected wholeheartedly for decades now. Despite the public’s reluctance, our senile Commander in Chief is supposedly “personally committed” to taking action on gun control and moving forward with radical proposals, especially regarding “background checks,” which is why his officials were meeting with gun control advocates. Supposedly, Biden is mulling both legislation and the use of executive orders. As the Hill puts it:

Through executive orders, Biden could change or expand the definition of who is in the business of selling guns, prioritize funding for community violence prevention programs and eliminate “ghost guns” by defining what constitutes a gun, according to gun control advocates.”

Adzi Vokhiwa, who is the head of an anti-gun group called Giffords, had this to say about executive action and legislation:

“I think everything is on the table. I think the White House is certainly supportive of Congress doing their part. I think there are things we’d like to see happen through legislation. … But certainly there is a role for executive action.”

Luckily, Biden’s Gun Control Efforts Might Not Succeed

Thankfully, Biden’s new gun control efforts, all of which align with his past views on gun control, professed willingness to take your guns, and general lack of knowledge about the 2nd Amendment, might not succeed. Our right to keep and bear arms might yet be preserved. Here is what one article has to say:

From Newsweek:

“The National Rifle Association (NRA) has vowed to fight back after President Joe Biden called on Congress to strengthen gun control measures amid the third anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland, Florida...

‘TODAY: President Biden issued a statement calling on Congress to: Ban commonly owned firearms (AR-15s) and 10+ round mags; Criminalize private firearm transfers; Run firearm manufacturers & dealers out of business,’ the gun rights advocacy group tweeted.

These are dark times and gun owners are right to fear that their rights won’t be respected. But all hope is not lost. They’ll have to push anything through a Senate filibuster, which should prove difficult, SCOTUS is 6-3 conservative to leftist, and many states are prepping to fight. And the NRA with its vast lobbying apparatus might finally get to work. So, while the gun control plans Biden is proposing are scary, there might be a glimmer of hope.
