Introduction
The Firearm Blog is one of my favorite websites to read when I want to hear what is happening in the gun world. From it, I learned that Americans are buying more guns than ever.
More specifically, according to an article entitled “May 2020 Destroys NICS Records of Any Year since Program Introduction” by Luke C., this past May blew away all previous months by a long shot.
So, despite recently doing an “Interesting Article” post, I think doing another one is important because of what Luke’s article on the fact that Americans are buying more guns than ever shows. Additionally, I haven’t done a post on my thoughts on gun control, so I thought this article would be a welcome addition to the site’s content.
Summary of the Reason Why Americans are Buying More Guns than Ever:
First, Luke notes that May, last month, was the month with the highest number of gun sales (recorded by NCIS background check) ever. Americans are buying more guns than ever in 2020, and the number keeps increasing month over month.
Next, Luke gives the exact numbers to show that Americans are buying more guns than ever, followed by a helpful chart:
“According to a National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) study, May 2020 saw a staggering 3,066,740 checks conducted through the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). While this is a big number, the NSSF removed the checks that were gun permit checks for states that require those procedures. With the permit checks removed, the total number of firearm-related checks is revealed to be at 1,595,790.”

Finally, Luke notes that of the people making the purchases that show Americans are buying more guns that ever, a huge number of them are first-time gun buyers. So, in other words, these aren’t preppers buying vast arsenals. They’re average people worried about crime and tyranny in 2020.
My Take on Why It’s Important that Americans are Buying More Guns than Ever
I think that it is incredibly important that Americans are buying more guns than ever for two reasons.
The first reason is that many of them were first-time gun buyers, as Luke made sure to point out. An increase in first-time buyers means that more a much larger number of people that understand and appreciate their 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
As a result, that means that perhaps calls for gun control will go down now that more people understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment. So, that’s one possible positive side-effect of the fact that Americans are buying more guns than ever.
The second reason that it’s important that Americans are buying more guns than ever is that it means Americans aren’t so enthused about the “protests” that are really riots. Rather than jumping all-in to support the thug-like Antifa terrorists, the silent majority of Americans are arming up so they can defend what is theirs from the hands of vicious looters.
Conclusion
America is facing an inflection moment with these absurd protests. George Floyd wasn’t a good person and Trump is doing everything in his power to help American blacks, but still the left is raging in the streets and robbing our small business owners blind. Real Americans are about to start fighting back. And, as shown by the fact that Americans are buying more guns than ever, they certainly have the means to do so. They know Joe Biden will take their guns, which makes now the time to buy one.
If you do not buy one now, this last little bit of time while Trump is president, or the first bit of the Biden Admin before he can get to gun control legislation, then you might never be able to buy one of the AR-15’s that you desperately need to fend off the violent mob that is rioting and destroying America right now.
Biden and Kamala will certainly ban them, or at least introduce far-stricter background checks that will make buying one the living hell that is currently buying an NFA item. You need an AR-15 to defend yourself. Buy one now so that you can do so if the mob comes for you. I hope Trump will win, but, if he does not, then you will regret not buying one now.
Get ready to defend yourself, be like the Americans that are buying more guns than ever and do what is necessary to prepare to defend yourself and your family against the violent criminals that want to kill you and destroy America.
